Clarence W. Doctor, 89, of Fort Wayne, a retired machine operator, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 2000, at Riverbend Healthcare.

The rural Adams Township, Allen County native retired in 1970 from General Electric Co. after 15 years of service. He was a member of GE Quarter Century Club and Grace Lutheran Church.

Surviving are a son, Verle L. of Hoagland; a daughter, Sylvia Berning of Decatur; a brother, Ralph of Monroeville; 10 grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one stepgreat-grandchild.

His wife, Nora, preceded him in death.

Services are 10 a.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, 2940 S. Anthony Blvd., with calling one hour before services. Calling is from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, 740 Indiana 930 E., New Haven. Burial will be at Concordia Cemetery Gardens.

Memorials are to Worship for Shut-Ins or to the donor's choice.
