Erastus Ralph Abbott died Sunday morning, March 22, 1914 at 10:15 A.M. at his home on Sixth Street and Eleventh Avenue in Nebraska City, Otoe County, Iowa, of pneumonia, after an illness of nine days. He was born March 10, 1867, in Adair County, Iowa, and on August 5, 1895, he was married to Miss Fannie Margaret Shoemaker, in Fremont County, Iowa. He is survived by the widow and the following children, Adam J. Abbott of Coburg, Iowa, Miss Margaret J. Abbott, Adrain, Peter, Sewell, Elsie, and Mary Ann, all living at home. While living in Iowa he engages in farming, but March 1, 1912 came to this city to make his home. For some time he has been in charge of the street sweeper. He was a hard working man and greatly respected by all who knew him.
The funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services was conducted by Rev. A. E. Rapp of the Baptist Church, of which church he was a member.
