Pascagoula - Mrs Sallie Emily Havens Guillotte, 86, a resident of Gautier for 55 years, died Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs Hermes [Theresa] Hague, 707 Mill Road in Pascagoula. Visitors may call tonight from 7 until 9 at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. Her funeral will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a m at Gautier United Methodist Church, where visitors may call an hour before services. Burial will be in Pine Crest Cemetery in Gautier.
The lifelong resident of Jackson County was born in Daisy Vestry. Mrs Guillotte was the daughter of the late Judge Henry Cooper Havens and the late Mary Franklin Cain Havens. She was the last survivor of a family of 20 children.
A graduate of the Old Biloxi School of Nursing, she attended Belle Haven College in Jackson and taught school in Jackson County. She was a charter member of the Gautier United Methodist Church and a charter member of the church's Women Circle.
Mrs Guillotte was the (one of) first woman voter in Jackson County and a trustee of the Lyons Consolidated School. She was preceded in death by her husband, Napoleon Guillotte, who died in 1949. She is also survived by two daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth G. Love of Ocean Springs and Mrs Andrew J. [Lou] Bond of Greenwood; a son Robert Lee Guillotte of Gautier; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family prefers donations to the Building Fund of Gautier United Methodist Church.
