SATTERLEE, Arthur Lee Beloved father, father-in-law, grandfather and friend of many, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at his home in Santa Rosa, CA. He was a Sonoma County resident since 1948. Art was preceded in death by his spouse Margaret Satterlee in 1984 and Alta Satterlee in 1999. He is survived by his son, Brent Satterlee (Robin) of Sebastopol and his devoted daughter, April Lee Wagner (John) and their daughter Allison Lee Wagner all of Santa Rosa, with whom he resided for the past 5+ years; half brothers, Robert and Norman Satterlee and half-sister, Peggy Satterlee, all of Ft. Seward, CA. He is also survived by several step-children and step-grandchildren of Blue Canyon, CA. Born in 1922 in Klamath Falls, OR, Art was a descendent of a pioneer family on the Oregon Trail. Art was educated in Klamath Falls and Medford, OR studying pre-med until called to serve his country. A World War II Army Veteran, he was wounded by shrapnel while serving in North Africa and Italy as a Staff Sergeant. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He worked as an auto mechanic from 1937 and was founder of A & A Transmission and Satterlee's Garage, both in Santa Rosa. He retired in 1977, due to health reasons, from Zumwalt's in Santa Rosa. He continued to assist many friends with their mechanical problems up until his death. Art was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and across the U.S. in his RV. He was the last surviving active charter member of the Good Sam RV Group, former Assistant Director of Northern CA Good Sam, Past President of Good Sam, Sonoma County, and a member of the Machinists Union Local #1178, Petaluma. His presence and good humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Memorial Service celebrating Art's life will be held on Thursday, June 10, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at the DANIELS CHAPEL OF THE ROSES, 1225 Sonoma Ave., Santa Rosa. A reception will be held immediately following the memorial at St. Rose Parish Hall in Santa Rosa.
