Eva Jane Hurd Moore
May 18, 1928 - August 7, 2015

Jane was born May 18, 1928, in Menard to Madie and Elmer Hurd. She graduated from Amarillo High School. She married Richard Gist Moore on May 3, 1947, in Amarillo. She was a housewife and mother first, but later was employed by City of Amarillo and Amarillo ISD.

Jane and Richard were charter members of North Amarillo Christian Church and later transferred their membership to Washington Avenue Christian Church. She loved working in the Outreach Center there and attending Bible Study with her many friends. She enjoyed reading, quilting and cross-stitching. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, in 2008; and a son, Mark Andrew, in 2012; a granddaughter, Jamie Price; and a grandson Aaron Moore. “Mama Jane”, as she was known by all, leaves behind a rich heritage of wisdom shown to those around her, not by her words, but by her actions. She was a gentle and quite spirit and loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all her soul, mind, and strength. She was generous with her prayers, her time, and her financial resources.

Survivors include three children, Mike Moore of Los Alamos, N.M., Becky Price and husband Johnie and Monte Moore, all of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Cade, Drew, Morgan and Lisa Price, all of Amarillo, Adam Moore of Lawrence, Kan., and Molly Moore of Los Alamos; and four great-grandchildren, Aspen Larson of West Virginia and Orchid, Violet and Phoenix Moore of Los Alamos.
