Eva was the oldest daughter of Desire Allain and Exilda Tremblay.
Her father moved from Gaspe to Montreal, Hull & Three Rivers to find work. They took in working boarders for extra income. Hormidas Gauthier was a boarder. She married Hormidas Gauthier in 1911 in Rockland, Ontario.
Eva and Hormidas moved to La Sarre, Quebec.
One summer day in June 1925, Hormidas and Eva, and another married couple, who were neighbors of the Gauthiers' drove along the La Sarre River to go on a picnic. There was an island in the middle of the river. The couples rented a canoe.
There was alot of logging in progress on the River with many floating logs. The canoe hit the logs and tipped over. Eva drowned in the accident. Also the husband from the other couple drowned.
Hormidas moved his children to Three Rivers quebec, where there were relatives to help him with the children.
Eva had seven siblings: Albert, Irene, Leonne, Odina, Arthur, Abraham And Jean.

She had several children: Gerard, Rollaude, Beatrice,Germaine, Jean-Louis, Jean.
