OLD RESIDENT DEAD AT GOLDEN

E. G. HOYT, LONG A SUFFERER FROM PARALYSIS, PASSED AWAY YESTERDAY.

Golden, Ill., April 16.—E. G. Hoyt, an old resident of this community, passed away here yesterday morning after an illness of several years. He had been a patient sufferer from paralysis for a long time, the last years of his life having been of much suffering. He was aged 73 years, and had been a resident of Adams county since 1843, coming here from New York state with his father. The family lived in Quincy for a short time, and later took up its residence on a farm near Augusta. In 1861 Mr. Hoyt removed to a farm in Houston township, and resided there until about 15 years ago, when he took up his residence Golden, which had since been his home. His wife passed away in 1894. He is survived by two sons, B. F. Hoyt of Augusta and Charles B. Hoyt of Golden and a daughter, Mrs. J. B. Thomas of Columbus. Mr. Hoyt was a consistent member of the Methodist church at Golden, and the funeral will be held from that church tomorrow afternoon with interment in a nearby cemetery.
