REMEMBRANCE OF A GOOD MAN.
The friends of the late A. N. Francisco former Editor and proprietor of the Union Democrat, have contributed for the erection of a fine tablet over his grave. It is now completed and can be seen at Mr. L. E. Nelson's Stone-cutting establishment. It is very handsome and when placed in position, will rest on a base three feet long and fifteen inches high and from the ground to the top of the Cross which surmounts the tablet will be seven feet three inches. The inscription is plain and appropriate, above which is carved a printing press in bas-relief. The whole is marble of superior quality, quarried near Columbia. The taste and skill displayed by Mr. Nelson is alike creditable to him, and pleasing to the friends of poor, generous Francisco.
His only child, Albert Jr., was born on May 19, 1867, in Sonora.
