He attended Chester County Schools and was married to Ruth Thomas in 1933. They made their home at Mifflin a couple of years and then made their home on East Main Street for over 70 years. They owned and operated Paul Arendall Grocery and Appliances on Main Street for over 50 years. They closed the store in 1980.
Mr. Arendall was a member of the Henderson Masonic Lodge 485 for over 50 years, and also a member of the Henderson Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. He was a long time member of the Lions Club, having served as President and many other offices of the Lions Club. He was a long time member of the Lion's Sight Committee.
He had served more than one term as a Henderson City Alderman. He was a long time member of the Henderson First United Methodist Church and served in nearly every office of the Church, including sweeping the floor and changing light bulbs or doing anything he saw that needed doing.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Arendall Thornton of Memphis and a son, James Paul Arendall of Sarasota, FL; and a grandson, James West, Jr. He also has a half sister, Virginia Priddy of Henderson.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Thomas Arendall in 1993 and a grandson David West in 1999.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 P.M. Friday from the Chapel of Casey Funeral Home with Dr. Steve Mishke officiating and burial will follow in Henderson City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Funeral Home after 4:00 P.M. on Thursday. Masonic Services will be 7:00 P.M. Thursday night at the funeral home. Casey Funeral Home 731-989-2421
