He was the son of the late James Lindsey Cordell and Mary Lou Slater Cordell.
He was retired from Orr Lyons Mills with 56 years service and was a charter member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Hartwell, Ga. and a member of the Hoyt Brown Sunday School Class.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Janie Richardson, Vennie Kay and Myrtice Cordell and brother Woodrow Cordell. He was also preceded in death by brothers John Cordell, Thomas Cordell, Llewellyn Cordell, Cullen Cordell, Fletcher Cordell, Leonard Cordell, Lonnie Cordell, and Isham Cordell, and sisters Mamie Gulley, Lizzie Shiflet, and Annie Ruth Brown.
