Coldwater, Cecil Brook Friend, 84, died May 19, 1997 at his home in Coldwater.
He was born April 21, 1913, in Woods County , near Coy, Oklahoma, the son of Charles and LuElma Bowen Friend. A lifetime area resident, he was a retired rancher.
He was a member of First Christian Church at Coldwater and a form board member of Lookout Union Church at Lookout Oklahoma, school board member and bucking king judge at the Freedom Oklahoma rodeo. He was a US Army veteran of World War II.
On June 1, 1952, he married Lorena Hagen at Coldwater. She survives.
Other survivors include: a son, David Friend, Oklahoma City, Okla,; two daughters, Rita Case, Oklahoma City and Dixie Friend Gay, Houston, and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Chester and Noble Friend and a sister, Gladys Bowman.
Funeral will be at 10:30 am Friday at First Christian Church, Coldwater, with Jack Wingate presiding. Friends may call from 1 to 8 pm Thursday at Hatfield-Prusa Funeral Home, Coldwater. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery at Coldwater.
