Funeral services for Jessie Pauline Fontenot will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, April 18, 2010, in the Trinity Baptist Church of Oakdale with the Reverends Peyton Bass and Vernon Powell officiating. Committal services will follow in the Beaver Creek Cemetery under the guidance of White Oaks, Oakdale.
Jessie, 80, of Oakdale, entered eternal rest on Friday, April 16, 2010, in Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. She was born October 24, 1929, in Grant to the union of Dempsey Andrews and Rosa Wright Andrews. Jessie was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, an EKG Tech and was employed at Oakdale Community Hospital for 43 years. She loved to knit, cook and serve her God through her Church. She would over do for friends and family.
Her parents, one sister, Bonnie Bell Mann and six half-sisters and three half-brothers precedes her in death.
She leaves behind her loving family to cherish her memory; her husband of 61 years, Douglas Fontenot of Oakdale; one son, Gene Fontenot and wife, Suzette of Oakdale; two grandchildren, Ivor Fontenot of Cotile and Deeney Stracener of Hineston; one step-grandson, Aaron Courville of Pineville; four great-grandchildren, Haley and Autumn Fontenot of Tyler, Texas, Christon and Coleton Stracner of Hineston; one sister, Jewel Powell of Oakdale.
Pallbearers to serve will be Bro. Bill Billings, Josh Dykes, Gary Moore, John Rudisill, Joey Darce and Joe Giroir
Friends may call today from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Saturday in the White Oaks Memorial Chapel and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and from 12:30 p.m. until time of service in the Church.
