Grady Finch

Funeral services for Grady Finch, 72, of Route 1 Box 208, Grapeland, were held Thursday, January 24, at 2:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church, Grapeland, with the Rev. Billie B. Bonner and Marvin Willis officiating. Burial was in the Parker Cemetery, west of Grapeland with members of Grapeland Masonic Lodge No. 473 serving as pallbearers and in charge of graveside services. Arrangements were by Hassell & Foster.

Pallbearers were Weldon Kerby, Grady Owens, Harold Cook, Jimmie foster, Fred
Thomas and Col. S. N. Boykin. All Masons were honorary pallbearers.

Lifelong resident of Grapeland, Mr. Finch was born Augusst 14, 1901 to the late Richard Finch and Rhoda Ann Baker Finch, and he died Tuesday, January 22, at 10:25 p.m. in the Grapeland Community Memorial Hospital following a long illness. Prior to retiring, he operated Finch's Washateria in Grapeland. Member of the First United Methodist Church, Grapeland, he was also affiliated with Grapeland Lodge No. 473 AF & AM and Trinity Chapter
No. 4 RAM, both of Crockett.

Survivors: wife, Mrs. Maude Chaffin Finch, Grapeland; two sons, Grady Finch, Jr., of Daisetta and C. W. (Pete) Finch of Lufkin; a stepson, Harold Skidmore of Charleston, S. C.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Troy (Treva) Finch of Pasadena, and Mrs. Jean Trahan of Beaumont; a brother, E. L. Finch of Houston; two grandchildren, Maryanna Finch of Tyler, and Grady Alvin Finch, III of Daisetta; 6 step grandchildren.
