Rowland Charles Gaylord, resident of Arcadia for the last six years, died suddenly last Thursday at his home, 829 East Magnolia.
Mr. Gaylord was born April 8, 1893, in Roper, North Carolina, and came to Arcadia some six years ago. He was a retired mechanic.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Gaylord of Arcadia; a son, Linwood Gaylord of Washington, D.C., four daughters, Mrs. Louise Richardson of Miami; Miss Lillie Gaylord of Washington; Mrs. Ruth Tripp of Portsmouth, Virginia; Mrs. Jacqueline Stucker of Washington, D. C. A sister, Mrs. Alice Brown of Portsmouth, North Carolina.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday morning from Robarts Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Hayes officiating. Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Pallbearers were, Fred Zink, Carl F. Morrow, E. E. Richardson, John Carroll, Robert Wineset, and Frank C. Tripp.
