Benjamin Beeby and wife from the vicinity of Goffs (sic) were in the city Monday. They informed us that Peter Troxell, an old and highly respected resident of the county, was lying at the point of death with erysipelas. The doctor that morning reported gangreen (sic) had set in in a virulent form.

Peter Troxel, an old and well known citizen of Granada township, died and was buried last Sunday from the Evening Star school house, northeast of Goffs. Rev. D.N. Rose preached a splendid funeral sermon, and a large concourse of people were in attendance to pay their last tribute of respect to their dear friend and neighbor. - Corning Gazette.
