Funeral services will be conducted for Mr. Adam J. "A.J." Dronet, 69, on Monday, April 16, 2007 at 2:00 PM in the David Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating. Inurnment will be held at St. John Cemetery in Jeanerette at a later date.

Visitation will begin on Monday, April 16, 2007 at 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM and a rosary will be prayed on Monday at 11:00 AM.

A native of New Iberia and a resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Dronet died on Thursday, April 12, 2007 while fishing at the "Bar Pits" near Lake Fausse Point State Park in rural Iberia Parish. Mr. Dronet worked in the oil field most of his life. He worked for Tuboscope and then went to work for 2 R Drilling for over 20 years. He was an avid fisherman, loved camping and cooking for his family.

He is survived by his wife, Verna Migues Dronet of Jeanerette; sons, Randy Dronet and his wife Lacey, Lyn Ransonet and his wife Cindy both of New Iberia and Larry Ransonet and his wife Louise of Jeanerette; sisters, Alita Cheatam of Memphis, TN and Evenette "Sis" Romero and her husband Darcey of Coteau; grandsons, Duston Dronet, Jamie Ransonet and Jacob Ransonet all of New Iberia and Lance Ransonet of Jeanerette; grand daughters, Alexis Dronet of New Iberia and Linden R. Weber of Jeanerette and his pet poodle, "Bear".

He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Dronet and Adelaide Mayard Dronet.

David Funeral Home of Jeanerette at 400 Provost St. Jeanerette, LA 70544 is in charge of arrangements.
