census) Wife Leannah and Baby Leannah probably
died in 1880. (no known record) John Jasper Sr.
then married Ruth Montgomery probably in 1881. Their
son, James Houston Shook was born June 22, 1882. Their
other son, W. Rosamund Shook was born on Mar. 14, 1885.
Before this child was born, John Sr., took his three
older children and moved to Arkansas leaving Ruth and
the two boys in Miss. Myrtle Grimmett Carter (grandaughter)
remembered that he died in the Grimmett home at Ferndale, Saline/Pulaski Co Line, after 1903, and was buried in the
Pleasant Hill Cemetary in Saline Co.
