Funeral service for Billy Joe Hayes was Friday, April 2, 2010, at Parkway Funeral Home with Bro. Hollis Retherford officiating.
Burial was in Moulton Memory Gardens.
Mr. Hayes died Tuesday, March 30, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born Sept. 1, 1937, in Lawrence County to David and Ida Hayes. He was retired from Saginaw. Mr. Hayes was a member of the Lawrence County Rescue Squad.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Beth Hayes Terry.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Ruth Hayes; one son, Brian Hayes of Moulton; one daughter, Tina Terry (Ronnie) of Moulton; one brother, Odean Hayes; one sister, Marion Carroll; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jerry Carroll, Rod Hayes, Gary Buttram, Mike McCullough, Blaine Johnson and R.B. Abbott.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Lawrence County Rescue Squad.
