He was well known as an excellent clock and watch repairman. In spite of many months of illness, he was patient and cheerful until the end.
He was married to Miss Matt Smith April 17, 1895 and they had 2 children; a son who died in infancy and a daughter, Nelle.
He is survived by his widow and daughter and one brother, Max Tarpenning.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the home with burial in Haley's Grove cemetery.
