She was Methodist and a Homemaker. She was a resident of Mulberry for 50 years, a 4-H Leader in Crawford County for 11 years, and a member of the Genealogy Society. Her hobbies included painting, photography, and travel. She traveled to 48 of the 50 States. She loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 ½ years, Howard Hanes and three sons; David, John, & Carl Hanes.
Memorial services were Friday, April 16, 2010 at Vine Prairie Baptist Church in Mulberry with interment of ashes to follow at New Cemetery in Mulberry. Arrangements are under the direction of Fentress Mortuary of Fort Smith.
She is survived by six daughters Marie of CA, Lois and her husband Melburn of AR, Ruth of CA, Betty of AR, Alice and her husband Jim of CA, Neva of AR, one foster daughter Pat of CA, one son Fred and his wife Ida of AR; two sisters Lillian of OH and Ethel of OH; 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and eight great, great grandchildren.
