She was born Dec. 14, 1875 in Jerseyville, Ill., and married J. G. Butz in 1898 in Manchester, Okla.
They farmed in the Manchester community until his death in 1922. She moved to Wichita in 1953.

Survivors: Sons, Walter, Anthony; Nelson and Oliver, both of Wichita; Jake Benson, Manchester; daughters, Mrs. Hazel Holland, Mrs. Anna Potter, Mrs. Loretta Shepard and Mrs. Ruth Wertz, all of Wichita; Mrs. Agnes Beach, Shawnee Mission; Mrs. Virgi Wolf, Wichita; a brother, Con Thornburg, Ft. Smith, Ark.; a sister, Mrs. May Hughes, Wichita; 30 grandchildren and 60 great-grandchildren.
Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday Elliott Chapel, Anthony; Rev. Merwin Kurtz.
Burial: Waldron Cemetery, Waldron.
