11 May 1964: Mrs. Effie R. Bennetch, Myerstown RD 2, wife of Marvin Bennetch, died Sunday at the Good Samaritan Hospital. She was 72. She was the daughter of the late Hiram and Lucy Brightbill Bamberger. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church Schaefferstown, and The Ladies Aid Society for many years. In addition to her husband she survived by five sons, J Howard, Lebanon RD 1; Hiram, Newmanstown; Morris, Sheridan RD 1; J. Henry and Marlin, Myerstown RD 2, and daughter, Merle, wife of Lt. Col. John R. Sherman Jr., U.S Army, stationed in Japan. Sixteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive as do three sisters Mrs. John Thompson, Upper Darby; Mrs. Addis Kean, Narberth, and Mrs. Harvey Yeager, Lebanon, and five brothers, Allen Bamberger, Myerstown Irvin E.
