Beloved husband, father and friend, passed away at the Bay Pines Veterans Hospital on June 19, 2008. Born on May 19, 1925, in Hortonville, WI to Harold and Margaret (Lippert) Collar with siblings Louis, Francis, Willard, Adela, Eugene, Donald and Marion. Victor moved to St. Petersburg, in 1958. He served in the U.S. Army in Europe and Asia, from 1945 to 1952. A Sergeant First Class, he is a twice Purple Heart recipient. Following a medical discharge with injuries incurred in battle in Korea, we worked professionally in retail sales at the downtown St. Petersburg Mass Brothers for 33 years. As a Roman Catholic, he was a lifetime member of the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle. Victor is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marie Collar; children, David, Daniel, Bonnie and Brian. His lineage includes 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Victor was laid to rest at the Bay Pines National Cemetery with full military honors on June 26, 2008.
