Born in Sylva, NC, he was the son of the late Oscar Thomas and Fannie Mae Schuler DeBusk. Richard was the retired owner of R&R Truck Repair, member of Ebenezer Lodge No. 101, A.F.M. and a Christian.
Surviving is a daughter: Linda DeBusk Burnette (Michael) of Greer; sons: Gerald “Red” DeBusk (Kay) of Taylors, Darrell DeBusk (Lea) of Leavenworth, KS and Joseph David DeBusk of Duncan; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren and his longtime loving companion, Christine Burdette of Marietta.
Along with his wife and parents, Richard was predeceased by two sons: Richard T. DeBusk, Jr. and Eddie Ray DeBusk.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening, October 14, 2015 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary.
Funeral service will be Thursday afternoon, October 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at The Howze Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Gerald Mobley officiating.
Private family burial will be at Coleman Memorial Cemetery.
The family will be the home of his son, Red and Kay DeBusk.
