In 1941, Burt married Bernice McKinney, who together raised a family in Aurora, Illinois, where Burt founded Nodruff Electric.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and proudly served in WWII as an Electricians Mate aboard a YMS70 Minesweeper, which sunk in a typhoon off the Phillipine Islands. Burt and most of his shipmates survived 16 hours in shark infested waters before finally being rescued. Burt was a proud member of IBEW Local 461, Aurora, Illinois and VFW Post 7452.
Burt was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Elizabeth Nodruff; his sister, Helen VonHoff and his brothers, Robert, Gerald and Lester Nodruff.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2000 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with memorial services immediately following at 11 a.m. at Lee Memorial Park. 12777 State Road 82, Ft. Myers, Florida with Pastor Donald Strange officiating.
