Ella was the daughter of Nathan Kennedy and Elizabeth Keck. She married Robert W Lang on Aug 26, 1893 in Sac County, IA. They were the parents of 8 children: Clara (Burns), Olive (Luft), Jessie (Miller), Gladys (McNeely), Bernice (Tatman), Robert Winfred Lang, and Early Wallace Lang. She married 2nd Friend Aldrich on October 17, 1925.

The Sac Sun - Thursday , November 11th, 1926 - Mrs Friend Aldrich, better known at Sac City as Mrs Ella Lang, widow of Robert W Lang, was killed last Friday in an automobile accident which occurred on the highway 9 miles north of Fonda. She and her husband and her 9 years old son, Early Lang, were driving from their home at Rowan, IA to Sac City with the expectation of paying a visit to her sons-in-law and daughters, Mr and Mrs John O Barns and Mr and Mrs Gus Luft.

They were driving on the left side of the road and noting that a car was approaching, Mr Aldrich turned to the right, as he did so the steering gear locked and his car turned into the ditch and went up on the other side of it. The occupants of the car were thrown into the ditch and the car rolled back upon Mrs Aldrich, the impact breaking her neck and inflicting other injuries any of which were likely to have been fatal.

The lad also was caught under the car and one leg was severely bruised but no bones were broken. Mr Aldrich escaped serious injury and was able to help lift the car away from Mrs Aldrich but they found life had departed.

The body was taken to Varina where preparations were made for burial and AG Neal brought it to Sac City and had charge of the funeral.

The funeral was held on Sunday afternoon at 2 at the residence of Mr and Mrs John O Barns at 505 N 14th street. The pall bearers were the decedents sons-in-law, JO Barns, Guest Luft and Chas Miller, and her stepsons, IC Henry and Raymond Aldrich.

Besides the relatives mentioned there were in attendance at the funeral from other communities the family of IC Henry and Raymond Aldrich, Earl Lang, who was brought to the city and will make his home with his brother-in-law and sister Mrs and Mrs John O Barns, and Mr Aldrich's brother Lee Aldrich, who resides near Rowan.

Mrs Aldrich was in her 51st hear and was born at Harrisburg, PA April 4, 1876. At the age of 2 years she came with her parents to Sac county where she married Robert W Lang on Aug 26, 1893. To this union were born 8 children namely: Mrs Clara Barns and Mrs Olive Luft of Sac City, Mrs Jessie Miller of Nemaha, Mrs Gladys McNeely of Cedar Rapids, Mrs Bernice Tatman of Sac City, Robert Winfred Lang, and Early Wallace Lang.

One daughter, Elizabeth died in infancy. Her husband died April 9, 1922 and on October 17, 1925 she was united in marriage to Mr Friend Aldrich of Rowan.

Besides her husband and children, she is survived by 3 brothers: Eli Kennedy of Sac City, Isaac Kennedy of Galva, and Silas Kennedy of Cherokee; 2 sisters: Mrs Wm Hahn and Mrs Chas Ritter of Sac City. she also leaves 10 grandchildren.ALDRICH, Ella 11-1926
