Estee Daniells came to England from the United States in 1905 to form, with Mr. Robert H. Ingersoll, the London branch of the Ingersoll Watch Company. Originally intending to stay only a few years, he lived in England for 55 years. He formed the all-British Ingersoll Company in 1930 and was its first chairman and managing director, retaining his seat on the board until 1957. He served for over 30 years on the committee of the National Benevolent Society of Watch and Clock Makers, of which he was the chairman in 1945 and 1946. He was also the founder in 1911 of the Incorporated Sales Managers' Association. For over 50 years a member of the American Society in London, he was its chairman in 1935. He also served for many years on the committee of the American Relief society. He was a founding member in 1919 of the American Club and was a member of the Pilgrims. He was vice-president of the Viola da Gamba society, a member of the Glyndebourne Arts Trust, and of the Dolmetsch Foundation.
