John Weldon Jackson died in Tulsa on April 9, 2010. He was 73 years old. He was born on June 12, 1936 in Holdenville to Lonnie and Lucille (Pendley) Jackson. On November 22, 1955 he married Darlene Baker in Wewoka. In the first eleven years of their marriage they moved twenty-two times following the oil field. He loved taking road trips and short cuts, which many times turned into a road trip. He was a member of the Nuyaka Baptist Church. Weldon was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Darlene, three children; son Reverend Robert and wife Loretta of Oklahoma City, daughter Pam Green and husband Vernon of Beggs, and son Reverend Randy and wife Sherry of Beggs, eleven grandchildren; Robert II, Ryan, Kyle, Kirk, Kara, Kodi, Matt, Justin, Brittany, Jared, and Bethany, twelve great grandchildren (very soon to be fourteen), brother Bobby Charles Jackson, sister Patsy Kosier, and sister Lonnie Jean Roberson. Funeral services will be held at the Assembly of God Church in Beggs on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Chad Eads officiating. Weldon's two sons may assist. Interment will follow at the Beggs Cemetery. The casket bearers will all be grandsons. Friends may visit the funeral home on Tuesday from 1-8 and the family will be present to greet friends from 6-8.
