Obituary

Mrs. Martha Dickson

Martha Ann York was born in Rolla, Mo., Feb. 10, 1853, and died at Geuda Springs, Kas., Jan. 13, 1929. She was 75 years, 11 months and 3 days old. She was united in marriage to T.C. Dickson, March 17, 1880. He preceded her in death, Sept. 12, 1915. She was converted when a child, uniting with the M.E. church, of which she had always been a loyal member. Her great faith gave her courage in the last hours. She asked her loved ones to sing her favorite song, "In The Garden." She was a character of great strength and courage, being of a cherry, lovable disposition, winning many friends.

She leaves to mourn her death, one brother, Will, of Silverwood, Ind., 21 nieces and nephews, 43 great nieces and nephews and 28 great great nieces and nephews. She was laid to rest in Geuda Springs cemetery, Jan. 15, 1929, after a memorial service conducted by Rev. L.A. Abernathy of Winfield, Kas., of the Methodist church.
