NOTE: All the information that has been provided for Ira stated that he died on October 11, 1918. However, on 6/4/13, while on a trip to the Hamilton County Recorder's Office, I found Ira's military discharge record and it reads as follows:
THIS IS TO CERTIFY THAT IRA E. DALLY
Private, Battery C, 338th Field Artillery died with honor in the service of his country on the second day of October, 1918.
Given at Washington, D.C., office of The Adjuntant General of the Army, this twenty-fourth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and nineteen.
(s) James N. Peale, Adjutant General.
This record is located in the Soldier's Discharge Records, Book 2, Page 289.
Because of the above information, I am chaning Ira's death date from October 11, 1928 to October 2, 1918. (The date of death on the stone says October 11, 1918).
