BENNETT, LAURA B. (ALVEY), 85, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at Audubon Hospital. She was born in Grayson County, KY to Gusty & Rebecca (Taylor) Alvey. She was a Homemaker and a member of Shively Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Allen Bennett; and a son, Jerry Bennett. Survivors include her children, Wanda Minor, Joan Biggs (Ron), Garry Bennett, and Jim Bennett (Dee); 11 grandchildren; 19 great -grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren; two sisters, Beulah Chesher & Eula Garr (Jim). Funeral Services will be held Saturday 10 a.m. at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy, with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday.
