Inez Lorain Wedell Lee Anderson, 82, of Greeley died Sunday, Oct, 24, at Life Dare Center of Greeley with her children nearby.
She was born Nov. 27, 1921, on a homestead farm near Flandreau, S.D., to Henning and Nettie Lee Wedell. Her mother died when she was 3 years old and she was adopted by her uncle Gilbert Lee.
Mrs. Anderson graduated from Flandreau High School in 1939 and later moved to the Twin Cities of Minnesota to work, first for the Star-Journal Newspaper and later the Otter Tail Power Co.
On Nov. 25, 1944, she married Chester A. Anderson in Fergus Falls, Minn. In 1959, they moved from Minnesota to California, settling in Santa Rosa in 1960.
She lived in Santa Rosa for 38 years and was active in a number of organizations including Newcomer's Club, Santa Rosa Garden Club, Welcome Wagon and several bridge clubs.
Mrs. Anderson was a student of life, a spiritual explorer and a follower of Ralph Waldo Emerson and Krishnamurti. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, painting, dancing, traveling, writing autobiographical essays and walking poodles. She loved to read and host parties.
When her husband died in 1998, she moved to a nursing facility in Greeley.
Survivors are a son, Paul Anderman and wife Terry of Leavenworth, Wash., Eric Anderson and wife Kristen of Greeley; daughter, K. Mozelle Morgan and husband Mike of Grass Valley, Calif.; five grandchildren, Kirstin Sanborn of Grass Valley, Calif., Nick Anderman of London and Evanston, Ill., Daniel Anderman of Leavenworth, Wash., Connor Anderson, Reade Anderson, both of Greeley; a sister-in-law, Mozelle Fulford of Cincinnati; a sister, Lillian Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas; and four nieces and a nephew.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
Private services will be held with burial at Midway Lutheran Church near Flandreau, S.D., on Thursday.
Northern Colorado Cremation in Greeley is in charge of arrangements.

"She was always reading," said her son, Eric Anderson of Greeley. "She loved finding new books, new experiences. She did all kinds of correspondence courses on nutrition. She read a huge series of books by great philosophers, cover to cover, just for the education she could get from them."
