Betty J. "B" Baumberger, age 82 od north west of Greenville, passed away at 7:45 p.m. Friday, April 9, 2010 surrounded by her family at Greenville Regional Hospital just 34 days after her husband Edwin.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home with Rev. James Howie officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery. For those who desire memorials may be made to the Reno-Bethel Presbyterian Church or the Bethel Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. Monday at the Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home.

Betty Jane "B" Alexander, the daughter of Merrill Allen Alexander and Leta A. Jane Metcalf Alexander, was born on the Alexander Farm near Reno on October 22, 1927. She grew up there on the farm and attended the Reno School and graduated from Greenville High School. She graduated from MilliKan University in Decatur. She taught music in Earlville, then raised her family and returned to substitute teaching in the early 1970 until the 1990's.

Betty and Edwin N. Baumberger were united in marriage on June 3, 1951 in Earlville and have enjoyed over 58 years together before his death on March 5, 2010. They are the parents of four Children, three of whom survive: Nancy Baumberger Nowlin of Greenville, Jody Baumberger Gehrig of Alhambra, and Kurt Baumberger on the Baumberger Farm north of Greenville. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Joseph Baumberger, Daniel Baumberger, Jeremy Cagle, Callie Durborow, Tate Gehrig, 2 great grandchildren: Natalie and Ellie Cagle, and sister in law Joyce Alexander of rural Reno, Illinois.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Edwin, their son Keith Weber Baumberger, and her brother Robert Dean Alexander.

Betty is a member of the Pierian Club, the Sweet Adalines Chapter, her Bridge Club , the Sewing Club and her church, the Reno-Bethel Presbyterian Church.
