James E. Brennan, 58, of Taylor, died at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 22, 1988, at St. Mary Hospital in Quincy, Ill. Born Feb. 26, 1929, in Clark County, he was the son of Edward A. and Catherine (Kate) Roach Brennan. He married Mary Lou Ryan on May 5, 1956, in Canton. A 31-year employee of Gardner-Denver Company in LaGrange, Brennan was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of Molders and Allied Workers Union 44. Survivors include three daughters: Joni Brennan of Springfield, Mrs. Alan (Judy) Ludwick of Kahoka, and Mrs. Jeff (Janet) Viehmeyer of Quincy, Ill.; one son: John Brennan of Kahoka; two granddaughters: Alisha and Ashley Ludwick; one brother: Lowell Brennan of Williamstown; one sister: Mrs. Pat (Colette) Dennihan of Hamilton, Ill.; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Services were held at noon Sunday at the Shrine of St. Patrick with the Rev. Bob Duesdieker officiating. Burial was in St. Patrick Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary Hospital.
