Death Year Estimate--Markers at Josiah Baird Cemetery not readable. Sarah died between 1840 to 1850. Sarah & James have been placed in Josiah Baird Cemetery because they were living in the Hickman Creek area at time of death and because of her relationship to Josiah Baird & Mary Holmes Baird.

James GARRISON, born ca. 1799 in VA was an early settler on Hickman's Creek in Smith County, TN. James died in December of 1857 in that county. He is listed in the 1850 Smith Co. census with daughters: Mary, Tabitha Jane, Nancy, and Elizabeth. A son, Wilson P. GARRISON (b. 13 March 1824) and family were living in the next household. Apparently James's wife, ***Sarah Baird Garrison, died between 1840 and 1850. There is a Wilson Co., TN, Trust Deed which states that Josiah BAIRD (Sr.?) was Wilson P. GARRISON's grandfather.

***(Proof that Josiah Baird had a daughter named Sarah is in legal document for division of Josiah Baird's property dated in Feb. 1873. Mayflower Pilgrim 332 has copy of that document.)
