Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Perry Miles Funeral Home, Findlay, for David Emanuel Smith, 67, father of Mrs. Betty Berlekamp of Bettsville. Mr. Smith, a lifelong resident of Hancock County, died Sunday morning after being seriously ill for nine months. Rev. Perry Alspach officiated and interment was in Maple Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Smith was born on Aug. 19, 1874, and had lived in Findlay for the past 26 years. Until four years ago, he was employed by the old John D. Renshler Funeral Home.
Surviving him are his widow, Clara, eight children, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, four sisters, and one brother.
