Delbert Francis Umbaugh, 78, of Ford City RD 1, Plumcreek Township, died early Sunday morning in Armstrong County Memorial Hospital. Born July 22, 1907, in Echo, he was the son of Martin Luther and Anna Mae (Cogley) Umbaugh.

He was retired, formerly employed by the Continental Clay Co. of Kittanning and as a coal miner for the R&P Coal Co., NuMine mines. He was a member of the United Mine Workers.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Umbaugh; three sons, Daryl F. of Worthington RD 1, Donald C. or Adrian RD 1, and Raymond F. of McGrann; a daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Leona) Sell of Kittanning RD 5; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ivy Schall and Goldie Eckman; two brothers, Merle and Wilbert Umbaugh; and an infant daughter, Alberta.

UMBAUGH--Friends of Delbert Francis Umbaugh, 78, or Ford City RD 1, Plumcreek Township, who died Sunday, Jan. 19, 1986, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Rural Valley, where funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Howard Smith, pastor of the Penn Run and Clymer Presbyterian Churches, will officiate. Burial will follow in Hill Cemetery, Cowanshannock Township. Arrangements are by Carson/Boyer.
