Aaron John DeYoung was born to Pieter and Della (VanderBeek) De Jong. He always went by John. Actually, his nieces and nephews affectionately called him Uncle Johnny. When he was 2 years old his family moved from Nebraska to Kansas where he lived the rest of his life. He married Margaret Zwiers on June 10, 1916. She became Aunt Maggie. They had 4 children, Mildred, Geneva, Wilma (Rosalie) Dorothy (Imogene) and John (called Jr).
About the time John and Margaret were married, John's parents moved to another farm and John took over the "home place". They lived out their lives on this farm.
