Friday October 15, 1897: On Monday afternoon, Mr & Mrs S.S. Elliott had an accident when going home in their buggy. Mrs Elliott broke one leg and received attention from Dr W.C. Lipscomb and J.B. Smith at the home of Buck Mortimer,then she was removed to the home of Henry Rice & her son Dr B.S. Elliott was called.
