BUCHANAN - Eleanor J. Gilman, 84, of Buchanan died Thursday at Mercy Memorial Medical Center, St Joseph.
The funeral will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Hoven Funeral Home, Buchanan, where friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p. m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Three Oaks. Memorials may be made to the Buchanan Church of Christ, of which she was a member.
Mrs. Gilman was born Sept 17, 1910, in Centerville, Iowa. She was a resident of Buchanan for the past 18 years, formerly of Sawyer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Gilman, in 1970.
Survivors include: two sons -- John Gilman of Sawyer and Richard Gilman of the Panama Canal Zone, Panama; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary Welsher of Buchanan." From The Herald-Palladium, October 1, 1994, page 11
