John Kersey Fowler, 79, Vinton, retired city employee, died Monday evening, Dec. 5, 1960, in the Vinton hospital following an illness of a few weeks.
Mr. Fowler was born Jan 22, 1881, in Brandon, a son of Frederick and Amanda Kisling Fowler. He married Belva Long Nov. 27, 1907, in Vinton She died Aug. 22, 1960.
Mr. Fowler, who had lived in Vinton for 70 years, attended the Baptist church.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs William J (Margaret) Davis of Stockton, Ill., and Jeanette Langham of Cedar Rapids, three sons, Don and Lyle of Vinton and Robert of Cedar Rapids and 19 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons in infancy, and a son, Ted. Aug 12, 1950.
Funeral services will be held in the Fry and Holland funeral home Thursday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Rev Clifford Kissinger will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
