Maggie (Squires) Barr
Passed away in 1948 at the age of 64.

Hi, It seems you have the Barrs a little mixed up.

Bernice Parks Barr was a man, Maggie Squires was his wife and the birth year was 1864 (says 1884), Herbert is their son and Ella (Barr) Pierce, the second wife** of NM and MO lawyer Harold Pierce (Ralph is his Christian name but he went by Harold in New Mexico), Ella is their daughter. The birth year needs to be corrected for Herbert as well.

Here is the 1900 census showing the Barr family:

** Harold was married to a relative of mine, Nellie Carpenter Brewer, a very famous female lawyer in her own right. It's intimated they probably split not too long after the New Mexico Law Partnership because she was more successful than he, being the first practicing female atty in the State of New Mexico.

It appears Ella Barr was also married before Harold Pierce, to a Ross A Shartle:

HAROLD PIERCE Harold Pierce one of the younger members of the Albuquerque bar was born in Clinton Missouri in 1882 his parents being John N and Lucy Bennett Pierce. The father was a native of Pennsylvania as was the grandfather Andrew Pierce. John N Pierce served as captain of a cavalry company in the Civil War going to the front as a member of the Fifty fifth Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry with which he served for two years. He was a minister of the Methodist Episcopal church and devoted his life to that cause Both he and his wife are now residents of Clinton Missouri. It was in the public schools of his native city that Harold Pierce began his education which he afterward continued in the Ohio Wesleyan University at Delaware Still later he entered upon the study of law pursuing a course in the Missouri State University at Columbia from which he was graduated in 1908. He afterward pursued a postgraduate course in Chicago making a specialty of law regarding property and corporation and he is specializing to a considerable extent along those lines in his practice Returning to Clinton Missouri he there remained in the active work of his profession for eighteen months after which he removed to Pryor Oklahoma where he continued until 1911 when he came to Albuquerque where he has since continued in general law practice On the 14th of November 1912 at Santa Fe. Mr Pierce. was married to Miss Nellie Carpenter Brewer a daughter of George E Brewer who was born in Southboro Massachusetts. Mrs. Pierce is also a well known lawyer having been admitted to the bar in 1908. She now engages in practice in partnership with her husband and since the 28th of February 1910 she has been secretary of the State Bar Association Mr Pierce is identified with the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and also with the Sons of the American Revolution In politics he is a republican In his chosen field he has made continuous progress

Case and Comment, Volume 19 Lawyers Co-operative Publishing Company, 1913 - Law A New Law Firm. The law firm of Pierce & Pierce the members of which are Harold Pierce and Nellie C Pierce née Brewer will open offices at Albuquerque New Mexico. Mrs. Pierce has for the past four years been secretary of the New Mexico Bar Association and has the distinction of being the only woman lawyer in the state. Miss Brewer and Mr. Pierce were married by Chief Justice Roberts in the supreme court room at Santa Fe November l4 and have sent out the following unique announcement: In the Supreme Court State of New Mexico Decree This cause coming on for hearing upon the application filed herein and the Court being fully advised in the premises Doth order adjudge and decree that the application of Harold Pierce and Nellie C Brewer of Albuquerque for merger of identity and interests be granted and said applicants are hereby declared to be an indissoluble unit Done this 14th day of November AD 1912 at Santa Fe New Mexico Clarence Roberts Chief Justice.

Nellie and Harold also had besides their law partnership an insurance company called Pierce and Pierce, then she changed the name of the firm to Brewer Pierce. She left NM for Los Angeles California in 1916, to become a public defender, so I would guess that's when they split up.

Ella Barr is still with her parents in 1910 in missouri, then married to Ralph aka Harold Pierce by 1920, so a good guess for their marriage date is 1916-1919.
