Funeral services for Verne L. Wolfe, retired farmer of Pittsboro, were yesterday at the Gregory Funeral Home, the Rev. Clyde Wake in charge. Burial followed at Lizton. Mr. Wolfe died early Monday morning at the age of 75.
Born in Madison County, he moved from near North Salem to the Pittsboro community in 1930. He would have celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary this March. He and Mrs. Wolfe were the parents of five children.
A member of the Methodist Church, Mr. Wolfe served as a trustee for many years.
Surviving are the widow, Ethel Roudebush Wolfe; three sons, Ledner and Donald of Pittsboro and Robert of Brownsburg; two daughters, Mrs. Laurabelle Pruitt of Avon and Mrs. Catherine Coleman, also of Pittsboro; 18 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
