Funeral for Marie D. Viani, 91, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Schoonover, pastor of Liberty Heights Christian Church, officiating.

Mrs. Viani passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2010, in Lawton.

Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Post Cemetery, Fort Sill.

Marie was born Feb. 14, 1919, in Booneville, Ark., to Rufus H. and Mattie V. Barnett Doshier. When she was young, her family moved to Elk City, where she attended school and graduated from Elk City High School in 1939. She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Lawton for several years and was later employed as a dental assistant trainee at Fort Dental Clinic No. 3. She married 2nd Lt. Harry J. Viani on Oct. 22, 1943, in Elk City. She was active in the Cub Scouts Program and served as den mother at Saint Barbara Catholic School in Lawton. She accompanied her husband on overseas assignments to Japan and Panama during his military career. She was a homemaker and had lived in Lawton since 1957.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law: Gregory J. and Frances Viani, Plano, Texas; and Timothy J. and Valeeta L. Viani, of Lawton; two grandchildren: Tyler R. Viani, of Tulsa; and Aubry L. Viani, of Oklahoma City; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; a brother, Thurman R. Doshier; and sisters: Rhea Chalfant and Mae Dorough.
