Hanston - Margaret G. "Marge" Ewy, 76, died July 19, 1999, at Hodgeman County Health Center, Jetmore. She was born Oct. 7, 1922 in rural Isabel, the daughter of John and Rena Carter Rhea. A longtime Hanston resident, she was a homemaker. She belonged to the United Methodist Church, she was a member of the United Methodist Women, a charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, the Senior Center, she was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a columnist for the Jetmore Republican since 1983, and a caretaker for the Senior Center, all at Hanston. On Aug. 15, 1948, she married Kenneth Ewy at Hanston. He died July 22, 1968. Survivors include: three sons, John L., Jetmore, Dennis "Pete", Kinsley, and Stanley, Albert; a daughter Kenna Ackerman, Spearville; two brothers Lynn Rhea, Broomfield, Colo., and Darrell Rhea, Medicine Lodge; two sisters, Reva Vermillion, Cunningham, and Helen Gobin, Preston; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a brother Ronald; and two sisters Virginia Welch and Alberta Vermillion. Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the United Methodist Church, Jetmore, with the Revs. Mitch Reece and Gary Winget presiding. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today and Wednesday at Beckwith Funeral Home, Jetmore. Burial will be in Hanston Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to the Hanston Senior Center or to the Hodgeman County Health Center, both in care of the funeral home
