Hazel I. Barnitz, 84, Sebring and formerly of Holmes Beach, died May 23, 2001.

She was born Nov. 3, 1916, in Fort Benton, Mont., came to Holmes Beach 26 years ago from Washington, D.C., and moved to Sebring in 2000. She worked for the U.S. government in Washington, D.C. She was a member of the Retired Officers Association and Sarasota GYRO Club.

Survivors include two sons, Kenneth P. Bullard of Charlotte, N.C., and Douglas M. Bullard of Sebring; a sister, Charlotte Hoover of Charlotte; and two grandchildren.

The memorial service will be private. National Cremation Society, Sarasota chapter, is in charge.

Memorial donations may be made to Life Path Hospice, 255 U.S. Hwy. 27 North, Sebring, FL 33872.
