Thos. Park Services Held Here Thursday
Funeral services for Thomas Park, Sr., who died Tuesday, November 25, at his home southwest of Bedford, were held at the Wetmore Funeral Home Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Russell G. Nye. The body was placed in the mausoleum in the Fairview cemetery.
Thomas Park, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Park of Petersburg, Illinois, was born October 27, 1869, being aged 78 years and 28 days at the time of his death.
He grew to young manhood in Petersburg, Illinois, and on December 29, 1891, was married to Miss Mary Montgomery of that place. They were members of the Presbyterian Church there.
In 1910 they came to Iowa and established a new home on a farm northeast of Bedford. After a residence there of a number of years, they moved to a farm southwest of Bedford where Mrs. Park died, October 20, 1922.
Following the death of his wife, Mr. Park continued to make his home on the same farm, living with his son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Park.
A daughter, Mrs. Anna Berry passed away in September 1941 [August 28, 1944]. Among the survivors are four sons: William, Finis, Arthur and Thomas, Jr., all of Bedford; ten grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Barbara McNab of Petersburg, Illinois.
