    A.R.D.S. Born in Ohio and a resident of Joliet most of her life. An active volunteer at Silver Cross Hospital. An avid Beanie Baby collector.
    Surviving is her loving husband, Daniel Schaefer of Joliet. Beloved mother of Anthony (Stephanie) Janes Jr. of Joliet. Dearest sister of Charlene "Char" (Joe) DeBoard of Odell, IL, Heraldine (Gene) Bergman of Queen City, MO, Joyce (Bob) Beckham of Pittsburg, CA, Betty (Jerry) Hatfield of Wilmington, Harold (Edna) Jr. of Braidwood, Jim (Joyce) of Joliet, Louis (Becky) of Marshall, IL, Dennis of Joliet, Donald (Penny) of Wilmington and Jerry (Barb) Riggs of Oklahoma. Numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and one great great-niece also survive.
    Preceded by her parents, Harold Sr., and Hazel (nee Metcalfe) Riggs; one sister, Valerie Riggs; two brothers, Carl and Johnny Riggs.
    Funeral services for Barbara A. Schaefer will be Tuesday, October 10, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at the West Chapel. Rev. Charles Miller officiating. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory to the Barbara Schaefer Family Memorial Fund c/o Bank One would be appreciated. Visitation Monday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at:
