Samuel O. Clark was the first
pioneer to settle that region
of Tippecanoe County, Indiana
now known as Jackson Township.
He established the short lived
town of Clarks Point which he
renamed Clarksburg, in 1836.
The area also was known as
Point Pleasant for a time.
And He established Pinhook
Cemetery with the interment
of his first wife, Rachel
Clark, in 1828.
