James Richard "Jim" Ladyman, 73, of Paragould, passed away Monday, April 5, 2010 at his residence.

He worked many years for Darling Store Fixtures and was a salesman for Modern Woodmen Insurance, five years before retiring. He was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church.

Jim was born February 13, 1937 in Knob to Barney and Oma Ladyman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Ladyman; father, Barney Ladyman; stepson, Robert Earl Griggs; grandson, Justin Griggs; sister, Bonnie Abbott; and stepfather, Virgil Stevens.

He is survived by his mother, Oma Stevens of Paragould; three daughters, Belinda (Gary) Coleman, Lorrie Lipe of Paragould and Jamie (Mel) Gore of Portage, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Tom) Miller of Greer, South Carolina, Joshua Coleman of San Antonio, Texas, Jason (Laura) Coleman of Paragould, Casey (Fawn) Lipe of Gulfport, Mississippi, Carnie Lipe, Mallory, John and Michael Gore of Portage, Indiana.

He is also survived by four great grandchildren, Jaden and Abigail Miller and Emilee and Blake Coleman; seven sisters and three brothers, Genell Shannon, Flossie Breckenridge, Villie Rogers, Freida Kelly, Anita George and Janice Starling, all of Paragould, Virgie Pilarski of Michigan City, Indiana, Monte and Kevin Stevens of Paragould, and Keith Stevens of Cabot, Arkansas. Mr. Ladyman also leaves behind many other family members and close friends.

Funeral service were held at Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel with Albert Camp officiating. Burial was in Linwood Cemetery.

Jeremy Coleman, Cecil Kelly, Frankie Starling, Michael Stevens, Jeff Williams, and Willie Don Williams will serve as pallbearers.
